How Aromatherapy and Crystals Can Add Romance to the Bedroom
The bedroom is arguably the most important room in a person’s home. Interestingly enough, despite this fact, it is oftentimes the case that it isn’t given the attention and care that it deserves. Consider the fact that the bedroom is the place where you spend the most amount of time with either yourself or with your loved ones. Having said that, it is crucial to ensure that you maintain a sense of peace and relaxation here.
Let’s not forget that it's still the month of love. With this in mind, let’s dive into some ways we can add some romance into the bedroom. First off, keep in mind that fresh flowers are always a welcome addition. There is something about the presence of flowers that makes the environment that much more enticing and refreshing. Keeping a candle or two lit is a great idea as well. But let’s go even further.
Nowadays, aromatherapy is all the rage. But before we begin, what exactly is it? Aromatherapy is also known as Essential Oil therapy. It has both scientific and creative applications, and it involves using aromatic essences from plants as a process of natural extraction is applied to them. Aromatherapy is said to promote harmony, as well as the overall well-being of one’s mind, body, and spirit.
Here, we focus specifically on how aromatherapy can add romance to the bedroom. One type of essential oil that is popular for awakening romance is the exotic ylang-ylang. This alluring plant is considered an aphrodisiac. A distillation process is applied to its yellow flowers in order to obtain its scent that is altogether sweet, floral, and warm. Additionally, ylang-ylang supports the endocrine system.
Another essential oil that promotes intimacy is jasmine. It is known for enhancing one’s mood and libido. Some even claim that it provides a sense of euphoria. Of course, it’s important to be relaxed in the bedroom, and this is where patchouli essential oil can come in handy. It elevates one’s body temperature, and its scent is also very relaxing.
Last but not least, bergamot essential oil is recommended for lifting low spirits, promoting a sense of confidence, and for its calming and mood enhancing properties. It is also said to balance hormones. Throw in some cinnamon for good measure.
Apart from aromatherapy, crystals are another interesting, effective, and underrated option for adding romance to the bedroom. Rose quartz is an excellent example as it has the ability to comfort, calm, and soothe. It is known for being able to “gently heal”. Turquoise is recommended as well as it is able to cleanse, protect, and reduce stress significantly. A perfect choice to get in the mood for some romance. For stress relief at the end of a long day, look no further than howlite and red jasper.
Have you tried any of these, whether aromatherapy or crystals? Tell us about your experience, we would love to hear it!
